I'm always looking forward to watching movies that have already been released but that I haven't seen yet.

Anyone have a good link for a site that previews upcoming films?

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/

This site has ratings and reviews by both "everyday people" and movie critics, for films in theaters or DVDs. It also has sections for movies In Theaters, Opening, and Upcoming. For DVDs, it shows Current Releases, New Releases, and Upcoming. A great section is called Best Of.

If a film is rotten, it will show a "splat". If it's good, it shows a nice, ripe tomato. The movies are rated 0-100, and I will only watch a movie with at least a 70.

When we saw Avatar there were a lot of previews, and it seemed all of them looked good.
The Lightning Thief
Clash Of The Titans
Iron Man 2 (hell, if Downey's in it, I'd watch him read the phone book)
Alice In Wonderland
Shutter Island looks really interesting, might be a good DiCaprio flick
Harry Potter (of course)
Leap Year
Tooth Fairy looks cute, plus the Rock is ever so pleasant to look at.
Not that we'll be getting to many movies after February...:-)

Another good movies website besides rottentomatoes.com is www.imdb.com

Seems like people are mostly looking out to the big Hollywood movies. I second Necho's reaction to "Up in the air", it's indeed an awesome movie.
Some other good movies:
-A serious man
-The blind side
-Five minutes of heaven
-Crazy heart

I saw the Argentinian submission for best foreign movie 2010 Oscar some time ago. It's called "El secreto de sus ojos": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1305806/
We'll find out this weekend whether it wins!

Finally, some movies I'm looking forward to seeing:
-Kick ass
-A single man
-The last station
-Enter the void
-Ajami
-Un prophète
-La teta asustada
-In the loop
-Le refuge
-Millennium part 3

I'll stop ranting here.

Saw that Alice In Wonderland broke the opening weekend record for a 3D movie, edging out James Cameron's Blowhard Fest (Avatar).

And it fucken won haha. Sad for Haneke but his movies just aren't Oscar material.

Anyway, carry on your popcorn movie topic.

Speaking of foreign movies, this is one of my favorites: Rudo y Cursi

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405393/

It's an independent movie about two dirt-poor brothers in a rags-to-riches tale of professional soccer. Poignant and funny.

Ah well that explains it, you were too lazy to type out the full title initially.

Just saw "Defendor": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1303828/ . Not sure if it's a Hollywood movie although it has Woody Harrelson, Elias Koteas and Sandra Oh.
Turned out slightly different than the superhero spoof I expected but definitely a positive surprise.

I just looked at the reviews for that today, Painter. I didn't know if it was worth a viewing.

I watched Legion the other night. It was like a cross between Terminator and a zombie movie. I enjoyed it.
