We get a few reports from members not getting audio notifications in the chat rooms when they receive a message and perhaps in addition when they receive an online message/black box.
I myself have experienced this a few times and this is the action I take to resolve the issue:
• Using the Network and Internet settings I clear down the browsing history, thumbnails, temporary files and biscuits.
• Run the System and Security option ‘Free up disk space’.
• Reboot.
If the above does not resolve the issue check for software updates; both operating system and browser. Reboot if any updates are applied and again establish if the issue is still apparent. If it is:
• Try a different browser if you have one and if that works either stay with that browser or re-install the one which resulted in the issue in the first place and again reboot.
