I know of a man who ... was found "out" ... and was forced to stay, otherwise, he'd lose more than $X million in one fell-swoop. Now that is incentive to stay in an unhappy marriage.

That guy must really love his girl (or had an awful lot more to lose financially) to go through that. There is no way I'd do that kind of act of contrition - might as well cut my balls off.

heard on the news that this posting (guy on the corner) was not true ... that it was done by a pubicity firm to see if the news / media industry "actually check out the fact" ... apparently they do not??

It's a shame the media doesn't have to check facts before reporting on anything anymore.
