Hi Gals,

I would like to take a poll to see what would the reaction be if I gifted my close friend a high end vibrator and a porn subscription

She's single, but loves sex.. you can say she has sex on her mind most of the time.. but she doesn't like one night stands/ get picked up in bars.. so i was thinking at least this may help ease some of her sexual cravings.. We've had many discussions re: sex and have gifted a basic vibrator in the past which she says has been put to use..

Also, any suggestions for a high quality vibrator? I was thinking of getting her NubileFilms subscription

Appreciate your inputs!

If you're that close, what's the hesitation? As long as you don't think of it as quid pro quo, or give her the idea that it is. Of course, if you've misjudged her comfort level with you, she may feel pressured regardless of your intentions.

Totally agree with Bethany, if that's the comfort level between you I can't see why not? I wish my friend had gifted me a vibrator instead of knitting needles like she once did as a joke to take my mind of sex. I however would be hesitant on the porn subscription but I'm not really into watching porn - so guess it depends on how well you know that about your friend. If you think it would be appreciated and enjoyed it's a fabulous idea. Some people would be horrified but I think it's awesome. Just maybe tell her not to open any packages in front of friends ;)

Sounds like a reasonable idea.

My girlfriend will occasionally give me a new toy that we ultimately both share. I do likewise with her.
I would have no problems accepting a gift from somebody I am intimate with but would baulk at one from somebody I didn't know intimately.
Porn subscriptions - never been in that situation, but probably not unless they were a very special friend. Certainly not from somebody wanting to become intimately associated with me in the ways the pornography depicted.

I do not see any quid pro quo in either gift if you are intimate enough to share in the specialty of the sexual wonders.

I enjoy toys and porn but I am certainty not addicted to either.

If she has sex on her mind all the time like I do, I fail to understand her rejection of pickups and one night stands. Just pleasure and no responsibilities or recriminations.

I would not be at all offended if a friend sent me a gift of a sex toy , I have one in mind ; or a subscription to a porn site , Czech Streets would be my choice .

Thanks.. The only hesitation is that I'm married.. and would 2 sex toys from a married guy ring alarm bells.. I was married when I gifted her the first vib too.. and we've discussed sex after my marriage too.. or do these mean something else that I'm not grasping (as in should I consider these as some hints from her end)

Her culture is preventing her to take the next step, unfortunately.. She's Indian..

Ha ha.. Agree, will warn her.. Like I was saying.. does the gender difference make much of a difference with regard to how the gift is perceived..

Sorry I missed this. It might make a difference but only you know your friend. 10 years ago my best friend was male and I shared more about my sex life and sexual interests with him than many of my female friends over the years. The gift from him would not have made me uncomfortable at all.

I do think it's a tricky line specific to individuals so hard to say - if you know she would appreciate and you also know that she is comfortable sharing with you and knows you're in a secure relationship etc., and that she doesn't need to worry about it being some creepy take on you hitting on her I can't see an issue.

Again only you know your friend and how liberal minded she is etc.

It sounds as if you and your friend have a pretty good relationship. Congrats on that.

Here's a question for you -- does your wife know about your generosity to your friend? If not, how do you think she would react to learning about your presenting a very intimate item to another woman as a gift? I'm not judging, but trying to understand the dynamics involved.

I would happily accept a sex toy from a friend, as long as that toy didn't imply anything. Porn subscription is much more suspect.
If that know me well enough to know which one or two paid porn sites I would have any interest in whatsoever, then maybe. I mean, I guess they could upgrade my Lush membership, which wouldn't be bad.
