Can anyone recommend any good Lush poets to a new member?

Apologies if there is already a similar thread in here somewhere and thank you in advance.
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.

They are all good or Lush wouldn't publish them. What are you in need of?

I guess I could probably have explained better.

I've had a scan through some of the poetry on the front page and most of it doesn't really do much for me personally. My preference is poems with really beautiful language, carefully chosen words specifically selected to convey a powerful image or emotion. I'm sure rhyming 'tits' with 'slits' has its place, but I prefer something a little more elegant if that doesn't sound too pretentious.

Perhaps someone who writes in a clever free form or maybe a meticulously crafted style with traditional verse techniques.

Would the 'recommended' section be a good place to start? I didn't notice that earlier.

Thank you.

The Editors Pick section and Recommended Reads are the easiest places to start for instant top quality, as you suggest.

Amongst my own personal favourites (I'm very picky) are (in no particular order):

Saga https://www.lushstories.com/saga

Frank Lee https://www.lushstories.com/frank_lee

Lauralee_sugah https://www.lushstories.com/lauralee_sugah

Sisyphus https://www.lushstories.com/sisyphus

Delphi https://www.lushstories.com/delphi

Elliotlacey31 https://www.lushstories.com/elliotlacey31

Each of them has a gift for taking my brain away from processing physical words to a thousand other worlds in the space of a few characters. They manage to pull out emotions from my very core and wrap them in senses that are almost physical. That takes both skill and a gift. I highly recommend them.

A little kindness can be so valuable, yet costs almost nothing

In many countries being gay is a crime, and even in modern societies, politicians try to legalise discrimination. Your voice can make a difference. Have a look at All Out to find out how.

Check out Liz and AvgBlkGrl

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I'm going to shamelessly promote my only poem here on lush, since I'm a poetic genius. The proof is that I didn't use the words 'tits' or 'slits' anywhere in it, and my lines don't rhyme at all:

I Don't Mean to Cause Alarm

Post-avant-retro-demelodicized-electro-yodel-core is my jam.

Shylass forgot to mention herself, whose poems are also extraordinary.

Elliotlacey31 does much of what you described.

I'm not really familiar with others that Shylass has listed but also Liz, avrgblkgrl as Sprite mentioned.

Where Jimmy Swaggart sinned
Just east of this here town
The drawstring of my britches
Let my drawers down
As I passed wind

And when I hitched them tight
I had to put my nuts in a truss
Cause my cock lost its getty up
On a Plantar's Wart sidewalk
Just east of this here town

I'm going to shamelessly plug my own poems too. I've written a couple in traditional forms such as the sonnet, but also some free verse.

I've received some good feedback for this one, which is (I hope) a bit different.

I'd love to hear what you think.

22 February 2024 - How about a quick plug for one of my filthiest recent stories? It's all in the title - Naked Pool Party Swingers | Lush Stories Please read, comment and maybe give it a ❤️ - or even a⭐ if you really enjoy it! Thank you! Annie xxx

Just re-reading here and thought I would add than from memory Green_Man has published several poems that are in traditional verse that you may enjoy. His profile is here: https://www.lushstories.com/green_man

I was also going to recommend my competition-winning, EC-awarded, "Pyramus and Thisbe", But I realised just in time that the 18th stanza does indeed include the tit/slit rhyme. So better avoid that one then.

If you want to check, though, here it is...

Thank you very much for the recommendations. I took a quick look at a couple of works by these authors and there are some exceptionally talented writers here.

Already a big fan of 'Frank_Lee' and 'Liz'. Exceptional. I will endeavour to read through at least a couple of poems by each author recommended. You've all been a big help. I appreciate it.

Adagio, thank you for your contribution to the discussion. I'm afraid that's not really my cup of tea though.

If you like Love Poems check out Hayley.

Liz and JWren are very good as well.

Avoid Recommended Reads they are just the personal like of someone with a badge and go with the readers. On the Home Page click on Viewed and you will see what the membership is reading. Gone from Me by Lydia is the most read poem on Lush.
