I've just seen another profile with "do NOT whisper to me in chat rooms without asking me first".

Seriously? You're in a chat room on an adult site and you don't want people whispering? Gonna get all indignant because someone dared to? You want someone to openly say "can I whisper dirty nothing's in your ear?"

Does anyone else think this is being a bit precious?

Well, I agree, and you can whisper (or yell) to me anywhere, anytime as long as you promise to eat your sprouts!

depends on what they whisper.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Oh. Do you mean for example:

If you and I are in a chat room with a buncha other people and some random guy whispers to you "hey do you wanna fuck me?" That would not be ok but if for example, I whispered to you "hey pretty princess, can I kiss your kitty?" That would be ok?

actually, i'm okay with the fuck you guy - my kitty, however, doesn't like being kissed by known lesbians with a unicorn fetish.

My best chats in chat rooms are in whispers.

I much rather whisper with people then talk in the open.

That's just me.

But I'm unknown and it's just a horn phase. I'll grow out of it.

*snorts* yeah, right.

From a male prospective, whisper away! That being said, not every woman... If any at all are going to whisper to a man unless they know them... Now, from the women who I have had conversations about it with... It can be unnerving to get unsolicited messages from just about every guy in the room... And when they tell them no thank you or leave me alone, the messages continue to the point they want to leave...

Any way, just my 2 cents smile

I always thought that being on a site like this is the equivalent to opening your door to whomever wants to come through. If you want to post a don't-whisper-at-me sign on your door, that's your prerogative, but any indignation you feel or voice for being approached in such a public place as this seems a bit misplaced.

Life here at Lush is different from our real life, even from our life at social media. This has to be understood by some members here. Having said that, I don't have anything more than what trinket said, but in short I personally consider following as stupid, rude and almost insulting:
1. Do not whisper me.... well with that attitude you better don't go to a chat room...
2. Opt-out from receiving messages from friends sent using 'All my friends'.... Why ? After all the message is from your friend! And if you wanna show certain notion, you have the option not to reply, or block them... delete them.... Why you want your friend know that you are not interested in their messages ?
3. Hide my statistics from everyone.... Well then why are you here ? What you wanna convey to other members ?
4. A comment must be given when my stories are scored.... Again why ? It should be left to the readers choice..... why bound them ?
I think above has nothing to do with the privacy of a member..... rather exercising of these options is polluting the environment here....

Its called chat room etiquette.

And I don't like being bombarded with whispers of explicit porn pics the minute I come in. (From people who aren't my friends. My friends don't do that to me, either.) And since no one ever asks to whisper first, mine are on for friends only.

But mainly it's called etiquette, like you said John.

I don't care how horny you are and no, I won't suck your cock.

I reply to whispers out loud. That way the conversation is on the table and usually staves off the pesky buggas. Mostly I ignore whispers. Speak openly. It's a chat room!

Absolutely everyone deserves respect wherever they may be.
As barbie said, you can have settings that allow only your friends to whisper and in any chat room you have the ability to block anyone in there. Problem solved. I wish there was such a thing as forum etiquette. that would be something to celebrate.

*nods* me too - they can whisper to their heart's content - the convo goes like this

Dick: whisper - want to see my cock?

me: out loud - do i want to see your cock? good god, man, yes! right now - post it - i NEED to see it. wait... that's it? it's kinda... teeny.
