I think it's funny that it seems to be more of a straight mans fantasy. I've met very few gay guys that were into transexuals/shemales, and they went for very femme guys. I know that some bi guys and girls like the idea but mainly it appears to be straight men.

I think that's fairly accurate. I think it kind of hedging their bet in a way. I know I share this fantasy a bit. I've met a couple of these 'girls' over the years but never really had a chance to hook up. To me, the attraction IS that they seem very feminine. Some have very nice breasts and even a women's figure. Of course, what makes them special is that they have a cock to enjoy as well.

The thing is, and this backs up your point, I'm not gay. I actually watched a documentary about shemales in Asia a short while ago. Their clientele is mainly straight men who want to have some fun with a dick: it makes it less 'taboo' or 'gay' than having sex with a legit man.

Thing is, there's quite a strong cultural stigma about homosexuality in Asia. It's hard to blame those who engage in 'homosexual' activities with shemales when that's the only form of homosexuality that's tolerated. In the documentary that I've watched, there was actually a 'monk' at some point that kept telling that homosexuality was sinful and immoral... but then he perfectly tolerated (and even encouraged) sex with shemales.
