I have just read an artical where scientist have stated being gay is genetic.

I have also noticed that there are a lot of gay ladies on here.

Do you agree with this finding or is it because a man/men has/have been such an AH/s that you have gone to the darkside.

I despair when I see such beautiful women that dislike men sexually - after all we both have our rolls in nature.

To all the gay ladies that r sick of men hitting on them. Please don't hold it against us; we can't help it - it's the way mother nature made us.vvZXZTNaxC33ING3

so, it's ok for guys to hit on lesbians, because nature made them that way? really? well, then it's ok for lesbians to punch guys in the nuts, cause that's how nature made us. smile

I like it!

I'm not a lesbian, or that is I never was and I still love the look and feel of cocks. But last July for the first time I found myself very attracted to a woman and we have been lovers ever since....but I also still have a male lover, and so does she. My husband, who is mostly a worthless piece of s*** these last few years, doesn't know about any of my affairs.

I took charge of my sexuality years ago and if men make unwanted advances they might not experience physical violence but they will get a world of hurt from me in other ways. It is my body, I get to choose who touches it, when, where, and how. I think a woman making an unwanted advance would feel my wrath, too.

If you're talking about the same study that I read about last week, then it was specificly about male sexual orientation and the fact that they've found some genes that seem to play a role in it (not just in being homosexual, but heterosexual as well). One of the 2 chromosomes involved is the X chromosome which all men inherit them from their mothers.
Oh, and these genes only play a role in it, but don't define sexual orientation. For instance in identical twins one can be gay and the other straight.

That is not what was said. Men are designed by natural as a primal urge to pursue the female of the species and mate. Don't take it out of context or offense as none was intended.

As an aside - let me say I don't hit women but if you kicked me in the nuts I'd take ur head off and I do mean pyshically.

If u take an agressive stance than u will receive one in return - as you ladies say please respect the other parties and keep it civil.

I was just making an enquiry because I was trying to understand their point of view and the reasoning behind it. That's is all.

It is probably related - I just heard a bit on the television so it peaked my curiousity. Hence the question. I have a few gay male friends - most of whom you wouldn't guess were gay. One is an ex Mr Canada. Very hunky and handsome but not the least interested in woman.MfmWuZjvDOR8fLaE

My wife's cousin who looks like Ben Aflect but more handsome used to be a hit with the ladies - hit 30 and changed camps. His life partner for last twenty yrs has been male. Both highly intelligent great guys.

Yet in ancient Greece the Spartans used to have both male/female lovers and would go into battle with their male lovers. Imagine their distress if the partner were killed in battle. This is supposedly the reason the military has been adverse to women serving on the front line along with the men. Yet Isreal has adopted this approach out of necessity and with success.oFcminrnWLFk3HMK

Has anyone ever asked you to explain or rationalize your sexuality?

Just as it's your nature to want to pursue and be with women, it's a lesbian's nature to pursue and want to be with women.

It's nothing personal. It's not something women do to piss off the male species. Women can't help being lesbian anymore than you can help being heterosexual.

And yes, for a few years now research has begun to support the fact that sexuality is indeed linked to genetics. And even if it weren't, so what?

There are plenty of women out there to pursue without you whining about the ones you can't have just because they're lesbians. Even if they weren't lesbians, who's to say they'd even be into you?

And for the record, I don't think being hit on by men upsets lesbians. It's the men that don't take no for an answer that are annoying. These are the ones that deserve a kick to the nuts. It's not your right to hit on a woman or anyone for that matter. It's a privilege. The second you begin to think otherwise is the second you're out of line.

As far as you calling someone ignorant and intolerant Mr. Pot, have you met my friend Mr. Kettle?

thing is, i don't have an attitude towards guys. i like guys. i have a lot of guy friends. i get along great with most men. it's the ones who think they are entitled to be jerks that i have issues with. the kind that won't take no for an answer. the kind who hit on me when i'm obviously with my wife. the kind who think that, just because they are men, they have the right to be pigs as well. that's when i have an issue. the rest of the time, it's simple. be respectful. it's such an easy thing to do.

i just get tired of having people explain to me why i'm gay. how about if people just except it and let me be gay without questioning it? i'm perfectly content being who i am - and you don't see me questioning why others are straight, do you? why are people so threatened by the fact that i happen to like girls?

Guys get rejected by straight girls all the time for various reasons that don't include being a lesbian.

Whether the rejection is due to lack of attraction, age, intelligence, attitude, personality OR being gay - it's still going to be the same outcome for the guy. I don't really see why a guy should care beyond that first "nope, not interested."

Who cares why people are gay. People are what they are and that's that. I don't need to know why a woman is a lesbian any more than I need to know why a woman is straight.

Do you despair when a straight woman dislikes a man or group of men sexually because they're overweight? Too tall? Too short? Do you really believe that all women should like ALL men in a sexual way?

I will defend you on the hitting on women part.. to a degree. In the real world, women aren't walking around with "I am a lesbian" sign on their chests so a man may flirt with her not knowing she's gay. There's nothing wrong with that. The problem is when a woman tells a guy she's into women and he thinks he can convert her and keeps flirting when it isn't wanted. That IS something you (not we, 'cause I wouldn't keep on) can help.

Seeing this topic I found it offensive, because the title implies, somebody needs a reason to be gay. People are the way the are and we should accept them for themselves.

However from a scientific point of view I find the whole nature versus nurture discussion interesting. There are actually some indications that homosexuality or at least the inclination for it could be genetic. There have been some genes found that could play a roll in it. Furthermore there seem to be families and areas with clusters of homosexual people, which can be a sign for a heredetary involvement in the appearance of a certain trait.

I don't even know what to say to that. First of all a basic understanding of genetics would make you aware of that a parent doesn't need to have a trait to pass it on to there child. They only need the gene. Additionally there was a time where homosexuality wasn't an accepted "lifestyle" and many people indeed some chose a conventional life with a partner of the opposite sex and even had kids.

I have lesbian friends and when we go out together I noticed one thing. They are not more annoyed by men hitting on them the average straight women is. They just say they are not interested and if he accepts that everything is fine. If he doesn't, I would wanna punch him too. Stupid ideas like "after all we both have our rolls in nature" are the reason why there are such things as reformative and make me really angry.

Yes I have been asked numerous times to explain my sexuality or my stance on hetrosexual/gay relationships.

Please show me where there was whining

It was a question in response to an article that was published stating that sexuality is genetic. As stated by one responder the genetic aspect was specific to males not women. So is it men's inappropriate behaviour that makes women seek relationships with other women? I suspect this to be a factor because some men can be real AHs. Some women can be real bitches also.

Whilst I appreciate women don't want to be constantly bothered by horny men it works both ways.

At my age I have no desire to pursue women and as stated was just tryng to get an understanding. I have 3 adult children all in their 20's and don't need to prove anything, but if one approached me and told me they were gay I would want to be able to advise/consol them appropriately.

How would a parent handle this situation if it arose what advice would they give.

I agree.

But society has an expectation that men and women are in a marital relation. Here it is not the norm to see in public for two women to be in a marital relationship.

It is a big issue here. The federal govt won't allow gay couples to marry and have overturn State legislation accordingly.

I and many of the general populace however believe they should be allowed as long as they love each other what does their sexuality matter?

Personally I don't care as long as they are good people, but if ur child came to u with such a confession u would like to have some knowledge in this area. This has not occured to me but it has to some people close to me.

Perhaps despair was the wrong word here. I'm not gay but nature has both sexes for obvious reasons. I am sure women are confused when they see handsome men that are not sexually attracted to them.

Agree and I have never pushed this issue.

That may be, but ignorance is only displaced when it is exposed, discussed and understood.

Sexuality is not a sacred cow and if more people were tolerant of this we would be a better society.

The title was not meant to offend anybody it was purely to attention to the topic.

Ur point on the genetic aspects are indeed interesting. Do u have more info.

I can understand ur gay friends attitude particularly if they have explained their position.

"after all we both have our rolls in nature" Whether u think is stupid is not the issue - it is a fact otherwise why have the two sexes - that the way mother nature made it. In relation to ur comment about reformative I am totally in agreement with you. It makes me extremely angry. My stance on is they be physically castrated and I mean in the case of the male the removal of the penis as well, or hanging. I prefer the later as it stops any chance of reoffending.
