Hi all you Guru's out there.
If I want to have a story promo JPEG in my signature on my forum posts, how do I create a hyperlink to the actual story?
I notice a lot of author's have done it.
Thanks in advance.

You just have to overlap your image link with the link to your story.

The format should look something like this (minus the spaces and pretty colors):

[u r l]http://www.TheLinkToMyStory.com[i m g]http://www.TheLinkToMyImage.jpg[/i m g] [/u r l]

Thanks Dani for your reply,
Excuse my ignorance but exactly how is that achieved?

The easiest way to do this is to first upload the image or banner you wish to use to your Lush image gallery. That will give you a link ending in .jpg.

Then you can edit your forum signature under Account Settings. That is where you will place the image link and the link to your story along with the corresponding codes, and the format should match the format I just showed you.

Hi Dani
I did everything exactly as you said (I think) and I get this error message
Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An exception occurred while processing your request. Additionally, another exception occurred while executing the custom error page for the first exception. The request has been terminated.

I can get the JPEG to appear OK but once I try to add the hyperlink it all f*#@s up.
I have no idea why?

I've taken the link to one of your stories as well as the link from the image in your forum post. Paste that into the section for your forum signature in account settings but remove the spaces.

Also, you'll have to create a new banner as your current one violates site guidelines.

Actually, it should look like this:

And if you want it centred:

But yeah, you still need to change your forum sig as Dani stated.

Thanks everyone for your help. I've removed the signature because it was a tad over the top.
I should have thought it all through before putting it up but I was experimenting with hyperlinking future new stories.
Cheers
