From time to time, I'll be adding verse to this thread.
Comments are welcome but certainly not required
This is admittedly as much for me as for the
Membership as a whole.
I work on my keyboard.
I build verse and rhyme.
A wonderful waste of my idle time
For those who have written
you’re all very kind.
You’ve convinced me for now;
I’ve not lost my mind
The letters fly round like a wildebeest herd
And form into patterns of nouns and verbs.
Just sleight of hand,
like a shell game of words.
They circle my head like small chirping birds.
And while my poems all seem so nice.
I love the long stories of love, lust and vice.
They burn in my body like fire and ice
And drip onto the page like liquid spice.
And so to the passions of the flesh I go back
And dream of my players who roll in the sack
And I hope it will be said I still have the knack
That I am a writer and not just a hack.
