I'm sorry if this has been asked before or if this thread is in the wrong forum (moderator if it should be placed elsewhere, please do!)

My question is are there any authors on Lush who use a Facebook page or other outside social site to bring readers to your stories? If so how many do and which site do you use? I believe I saw one author once who had a FB link back to their Lush Stories but I don't remember who it is.

I am considering the possibility - providing it doesn't violate any terms of service. I would like to hear if there are others who use this method to promote their stories.

As a site, we use both Twitter and FB to varying degrees.

Both can be very powerful networking tools for both site owners and authors.

https://twitter.com/lushstories

http://www.facebook.com/lushstoriescom

Many of our authors on here create accounts on both. A lot of them do it under their pen names, to keep their personal and professional lives separate (for various reasons).

Take a look at our above 2 accounts, and you'll get a feel for it.

DirtyMartini often posts useful things on his FB account, you should definitely add him as a contact.

I don't have FB for my naughty secret life, but use Twitter and my blog to promote my writing.

I heard that, and he did send me a message...just been too busy to answer...I myself have not used FB to promote my stuff here too much...most people who use FB to promote, usually steer people towards income producing stuff...like their books...I have been known to mention a story posted here or the blue site on my regular FB account, but never on my author page...

One member here who does a really bang up job of promoting her writings is the Magnificent1, aka the one and only Maggie Rascal...she does a really fine job of not only steering people to her stories, but also promotes her art, and maybe a few other things...check out her FB page for an example of how it could be done...

I use both my author Facebook and Twitter accounts to promote my erotica. I also have an author blog where I promote my erotica writing as well, and aggregate the links as well onto FB and Twitter.

Facebook to promote my flavor of sexual innuendo? Nah, in public - if you knew me - you would know I was whacked, but you'd think I was a closet republican liberal. Besides, employers, family and parole officers tend to use FB to spy on people.

Fuck a bunch of that noise.

Wellmademale makes a very good point. Actually, if you are going to write erotica you should use a pen name and hide your real identity. Make a persona based on you but with just enough varying details to throw anyone off track.

Unless you are in the porn industry, a stripper, or someone who openly makes a living in the very liberated sex industry then you should learn to be very discrete.

Your career or job could depend on it.

I agree and yes I would use a pen name. My job would depend on it. I am still considering it - haven't decided if I want to delve into that quagmire completely yet. Facebook changes too much to keep track of sometimes! We'll see.

Thanks everyone who has responded to My thread!

Is a "republican liberal" a new political species I am not aware of? I mean, nowdays repubs are pretty fucked up and liberals are pretty fucked up. Wouldn't a Republican Liberal be an extra helping of...fucked up?

It sure is... and it would be exceptionally noticeable with me.
