Idly thinking while driving on the highway today
(yes, it can be dangerous but it's a work related road trip, you want me to think about work?)
Anyway, I was trying to remember what were the hottest performances in the movies I've seen over the years - lots of stars came to mind but once I remembered Kathleen Turner in Body Heat (1981) - my brain ceased functioning and just kept running the loop from the film.
So confronted with my failure (and my nomination) - what do you think? what performances/stars/films do you think were really hot?
Ellen James
Maria Bello and Viggo Mortensen in 'A History of Violence'. two scenes - the cheerleader and then, again, on the stairs... god... *bites my finger*
You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.
Kathleen Turner and William Hurt, in Body Heat. The first time I saw that film, it was a rental that my wife had grabbed, just on a whim. We both sat in the living room, mesmerized, and came in our pants.
"There's only three tempos: slow, medium and fast. When you get between in the cracks, ain't nuthin' happenin'." Ben Webster
How about Lisa Bonet and Mickey Rourke in Angel Heart or Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke in 9-1/2 weeks?
Maybe the scene in the Godfather with James Caan (Sonny) banging that girl in the bathroom during the wedding reception? (added in edit)
I just remembered another - one of the scenes with Liz Taylor and Paul Neuman in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
"There's only three tempos: slow, medium and fast. When you get between in the cracks, ain't nuthin' happenin'." Ben Webster
Brad Pitt and Angilina Jolie in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, it's just something about trying to kill each other then fucking each other's brains out seems pretty hot
Ashley Judd in double Jeapordy. It was a short scene but damn, she was hot
Brigitte Bardot - And God Created Woman
Wei Tang in Lust Caution, Chinese 1930-40s era thriller directed by Ang Lee. Unfortunately, the explicitness of the film ended up hurting her career in China which is still a rather puritanical culture.
Gong Li in Ju Dou directed by Chinese director Zhang Yimou. A beautiful movie with no nudity and sex that's implied or offscreen but incredible sexual tension. Gong Li was my celebrity crush for much of the nineties.
