I tend to write slow and soppy stories filled with lust and tension, but is that what you want?
I wonder sometimes if people come on the site for some quick wank material or to read about genuine situations.

Don't sweat the readers. Lush is a great place to try different styles of writing. IMHO, there's an audience for both types of fiction.. Write the story you want to tell to the best of your ability and then let the chips fall where they may.

I personally write stories from a first person present point of view, with a lot of sexual tension throughout... sometimes just a subtle thread, sometimes right up in your face. But since I've come here, I've read SO many different stories from many different points of view. Different people, a huge range of settings and circumstances... sometimes even all from the same gifted author.

I wouldn't worry much about the readers, either. Go where your imagination takes you!

Others have already answered so mine is probably pointless - No matter what is written, somebody will like it and many won't. . . . Do your best . .Be happy that it IS your best . .submit it, and let the chips fall where they may. NOTHING is all things to all people - though my choice is your kind of story. 9 plus inches is MOSTLY fantasy rubbish and women screaming in foul mouthed lust just gives me a headache.

I prefer the slow burn, but I'm also a writer. You'll be doing yourself a favor if you just focus on having fun writing. Experiment if you want or stick to a winning formula if that's what does it for you.

I agree with the others. there are so many members here, plus people who just never join, but come to just read the stories. if you ever look at the home page and see how many people are on the site versus how many members are online (for instance, right now over 6000 visitors and only 245 are members), you will realize that no matter what the story, some will like it and some won't. So just be yourself and write as you see fit.

I agree with the above...it's good to vary things now and then...and after you write for a whilst, you sort of have to change things up or risk writing the same thing over and over...

And that would most definitely not be a good thing...

As others have said -- write what you love and don't worry about the rest. smile

That said, my answer is I like the sultry, realistic erotica HOWEVER I need things to get to the point of "sexual impact" sooner rather than later. Long, involved stories that take to page 10 to have characters make love don't keep my interest on this site. I like my sex scene right up front. That's hard to work out, I know, but it is how I structure my stories whenever I can and it is what I want to read.

i'm a great fan of sensual erotica smile i find it so much more, tasteful...although there are some fast paced stories that get straight to the point and have a lot of great responses.
i was wondering the same question myself, and i seems to me you can't please everyone, so write what you want and the readers will decide for themselves. Write what makes YOU happy..:)
A slow build up can be great, but i agree if it takes 10 pages to get to the main point, then readers may lose interest quickly. If you want the slow build up though, you could intergrate the sexual nature all the way through, whether it be fantasies or naughty thoughts as the story progresses....hope this helps!

I prefer things that get to it pretty quickly but having said that, it is a bit subjective as some scenarios work better with a bigger background or build up.

I'm a bit cold and ruthless though and enjoy pretty graphic descriptions. Too much talk of feelings around love, caring and desire don't do much for me.

Feelings of lust, excitement, fear, guilt, humiliation are more my bag.

Slow and sloppy full of lust and tension? Yes, please!

Sometimes I am in the mood for "quick wank material", but for the most part I want…something "real" (even if it's hardcore, which I always prefer), I guess. It doesn't have to be long and drawn out, but it has to have substance. I very rarely get really turned on by stories that are just about the fucking. They have to make sense. I want to know how the characters got to that point, why they're fucking, and so on. I want details. Not: Mary was horny so she went to her employer's office and said "let's fuck" and he whipped out his fifteen inch dick without question and they screwed like rabbits before coming six times. The end. Just a little mention of how interested they were in each other beforehand, or something to that affect so the sex won't seem so out of the blue, will go a long way in making me interested.

Smut that seems unrealistic just doesn't do it for me anymore. But hey, that's just me. People like different things, and I personally have nothing against quick and dirty smut. Like I mentioned earlier, sometimes I'm even in the mood for it. But more often than not I want something I can really get engaged in.

Seriously, though, write whatever you like! Everyone has different tastes anyway, so either way you're pleasing someone.


Note: I probably gave off the impression that I like love-making type sex, but that's not the case at all. I prefer my smut full of dirty details and general filthiness and raw, animal need. That really does it for me. silly

I'll read anything - as long as it's good. I seek out stories that match my mood. Sometimes I only want novellas and novels - sometimes I want something shallow and porn on paper only. It depends.

It's always best to write to entertain yourself. Personally, I prefer to read stories that have plots that build to a climax. I like reading (and writing) about characters who aren't into it at first and have to be persuaded, but once they're sold, they go for it all the way and the tension is finally released like an explosion. That's what makes a good story.

I am into the whole slow burn lust and sexual tension thing! For me to enjoy a story it has to build up for me it can't be the first page you see them having sloppy sex there has to be a chemistry and sexual tension between the man and the woman or I just don't enjoy the story as much! That is just me!
