Hello everyone!
I have searched for this topic but I was not able to find it, so I hope it was not already posted.
I know that it could be a stupid question for some, but I have written a story, edited, rewritten some parts, read it, re-edited and the such and it was all great and challenging fun. I am, however stuck on finding an inspiring and appropriate title. I do have some titles but are just like you seen many.
Do you have a method? Do you also have trouble arriving to a significant title?
Thanks, J.

Life is simple; we are what we eat and what we read. Talk is superfluous.
I actually often times will start with a title, right after I come up with a basic outline of the story. Sometimes as I'm writing the story, I'll revise or replace the title, just like I'll revise or replace some of the text of the story.
But that's just how I roll. That doesn't mean that it's THE way to do it.
I aways fit my title to the story. I tend to have a working title but that always changes. I find that if you use something that stands out or you want the reader to remember a certain part of the story, it can help to give the story a title based upon the standout event in the story. It's been said before but a decent intriguing title can make a good story even better. Rarely have I written a title first then the story because I think a story needs to be written first and then tell you it's title on it's own.
I generally have a working title while I am writing, but as I rarely know where my stories will take me the final title will only become apparent as I complete the story. It might be a play on some pivotal line or an image created by a scene in the story. But do try to create a title that does grab the reader's attention without being too long.
Mostly I tend towards the simple and self-evident in my title selection (usually for me, the title is born before the story) and I do feel it should be relevant to the story content ... all of which means my titles are dull and uninspired.
However ...
A friend (cocokisses) was struggling with a title and asked for input; we chattered throught the story and mentally I saw the central character as Shirley Temple ... it seemed to fit her both visually and in her general exuberance ... I suggested "Corrupting Shirley Temple" which fitted the tale and is intriguing enough for the casual reader (as long as they know who Shirley Temple was).
Oh and the story is excellent, so do take the time to read it.
So I would suggest something central to the tale ... though perhaps a little lateral thinking wouldn't go amiss.
Yes, you should have a hazard label on you, "warning CG will be your every fantasy"
I don't really have much advice but it is nice to see people taking their title seriously. Your title doesn't have to be very clever or cryptic; nice and simple and relevant will work just fine. Please avoid giving a mini synopsis of the entire story in your title - that irks me.
I just call them whatever pops into my head...
I don't usually have a title and generally just type something in so that I can get the story or poem posted...
I like my titles to be a play on words, though i guess if I really wanted a lot of people to read it I should go for something more literal.
Would "I finger a girl on a train ride" got more hits than "Unreserved seating"? Would "Fucking a student in her bedsit" have been a better choice than "The Student Body"?
Mind you "A bunch of lush sluts get it on with each other one by one until it gets back to the first one your were reading about" is a bit clunkier than "Circle of Friends"

Why not read some stories instead
NEW! Want a quick read for your coffee break? Why not try this... Flash Erotica: Scrubber Story titles attract readers. Sometimes the raunchiest title brings in many more readers. Just make the title appropriate to the content, use your imagination and be creative.
I'm thinking about "Featuring EVERY Lush Member"
Titles should say something about the story. They should be catchy and easy to remember. They should be unique enough that they stand out against the crowd
Or you could just name everything "hot enough to make you pop!" Part 1 part 2 etc
The best titles, I think, hint at what the story may be about but also makes the reader go "what the fuck?"
For example:
I Buy a New Dildo
My Best Friend's Dad Sneaks Me into the Dildo Shop
I'd rather read the second story. The first one is obvious... A girl will masturbate with a dong and cum.. Eh. The second one makes me want to find out how exactly the dad ends up taking his daughter's teen friend to go buy a dildo.. Then what happens? Did they get caught? Did he dong her up at the shop? Did the clerk watch? Did he get her a butt plug too? Etc..
The story can be the same but one title will make me click, the other won't.
