there are some who know my real first name, fewer who get an email address, fewer still who know my last name, only 3 who have my real phone number and to whom i have actually talked...

Just 1 person knows my full name and phone number (that is if the person still remembers). I felt comfortable with the person and established a level of trust. Things started off good, now they are pretty distant.

Everyone knows my first name if they looked at my profile. I've never made it a secret.
There's only one person that knows my full name.
She's a well-respected member of Lush so I don't find it an issue with her knowing.

Revealing your identity shouldn’t be a easy thing to do. Ive seen to many nutcases to allow me or my wife to use our real names online.

None, thus far.

I'm still very new here, and have yet to develop a strong connection with anybody. I don't know that I ever would, but it's not outside the realm of possibility. I have no facebook or other social networking profiles. Not even for professional purposes. The anonymity of Lush holds a lot of appeal for me. There's nothing wrong with my pen name or her life. She's as much a part of me as the name given me by my family. I don't hold a lot back from Lush when asked, so I'm not sure my legal name matters tremendously.

When I first joined Lush, it was my intent to remain anonymous, though all the details on my profile are true. Things changed and by now there are probably at least 25 people who know the name I go by IRL. There are a few who also know the name on my birth certificate. (hint: Cas is actually a combo of initials of my birth name, my nickname and my Lush username) There are 8 who know my home address, and a few more besides those who know my last name. I have met 7 Lushies IRL, spent 17 days with one in her home and had one stay with me for 3 weeks. One is a neighbor of mine and one is a friend I occasionally go out with. I have spoken, or speak on a semi-regular to regular basis with about 14 people, some of those being people I have met. I talk to one almost daily on the phone. So far, I have no regrets about doing any of this. I hope to meet several more quite soon.

Six. And that's because I felt comfortable doing so...and have yet to regret the decision.

Two people know my full name and have a way to communicate with me outside of Lush, one of them has my phone number and we talk semi-regularly. A few others I would probably share that info with if asked.

I agree with PLAYSIT - who also happens to be one of my friends! Everyone on my friend list knows my real first name, but I do tend to keep my last name, where I work and my home address private. I too have given my email, Yahoo, MSN and/or Skype addresses out to a handful of closer friends, but they are all special accounts created just for 'Belledujour'. I also have given out my cell number to a very select few with absolute no issues at all.

Everything in my profile is true, and I pride myself on being honest and authentic despite the genre. I am very selective about the people I friend and am not afraid to cut people if I feel we don't mesh well. I am very comfortable with who I've chosen to know more about me as some know much more than others - a couple of them have even made it to my Facebook. I couldn't be happier with how it's all worked out so far and feel very fortunate to have met some truly amazing people.

Having said that, there are a few others I would feel comfortable sharing more of myself if/when the opportunity presented itself but until that happens, I'm a very happy girl, lol.

One guy from another site. Somehow he tracked me here and got to be a pest. Of course he's no longer a friend here. Soooo, not very well.

Six, and only because I trust them all...one in particular quite fiercely.

It went well with all of them...and that one in particular just can't stay away.

EDIT: Well shit. I've answered this before.

None.. I think it is the person's choice weather they want to or not.. Lush is Lush.. nothing last for ever, then you put yourself out there for someone to talk .. So my RL is private away from Lush.I am who I am ,that doesn't change.

Thank you for showing me what real love is❤️

I tend to keep my personal information fairly discreet. Things have happened to me in the past (not on Lush) and it makes me weary of people. Even those I care about. Only a very few know my name, no one has my number, but I do have several on Skype, Kik and I even made a Facebook account of Lush friends. There is only one person who knows more than that and I doubt anyone else will.

Maybe half a dozen or ten people know my actual given name; no one knows my surname.
Three or four know the email address that I reserve for special communications. (It has a completely different name, which is not mine either.)
I think one person knows the name of the city where I live.
No one knows my phone number.

Until last month, I was much more free with potentially identifying information, including clear photographs of my face. I had a disconcerting exchange with someone who had a very strong personal reaction to something I posted casually and with no specific intent. The intensity and emotion of the conversation rattled me a bit, so I've pulled the veil over myself a little more.

As I get to know some of the amazing people here, I am wondering: how many of you have stepped out from behind the comfort of your avatar and revealed your true identity to others and, if you have, how many? How did it work out? What made you feel comfortable with that?

everyone who takes the time to know me knows my true identity. I can only be myself, damn that's hard enough sometimes. If you're just talking pics, they are available to my friends. No big deal, there's nothing risky there. What made me feel comfortable?... just being around people who understand me and who I consider friends. Nothing more.

Basically everyone! My full name and avatar photo are really me, and anyone who's paid close attention to the things I say in forums and on my profile know what town I live in, the names of my lovers, siblings, my job, and practically anything else there is to know about me, except my exact address and phone number. Many even know my contact info off-site. I'm kinda hiding in plain sight!

There are a few people that I actually knew in RL before coming to Lush and they came to Lush to check it out. One
actual good friend and fellow writer is why I came to Lush. She's inactive now. Two others, I have actually met from here because we have
formed friendships that go beyond Lush. All of them know me fully. Now that I'm visiting overseas, I'm planning to meet
another. Don't get any ideas, it is just friendship.💋

A few. We communicate via emails and through texts. I try to not just be friendly but be a friend. I appreciate my friends as valuable in my life. Life is a journey that is best traveled with others.

I've just published chapter seven of Undercovers Detective. I would love your feedback on this story. I'm planning on ten chapters at least. If you haven't read one yet, I've included links. I hope you like them.
